The lecture programme comprises of ten lectures delivered in The Wade Conference Centre Lecture Theatre.-- Hartshill Rd, Hartshill, S-o-t, Staffs ST4 7NY.

Lectures are on the second Thursday of each month and start promptly at 1.30pm and last for about one hour. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the lecture in order to register at the top entrance to the Wade Lecture Theatre. This is a compulsory Health & Safety Requirement required by the Centre in the case of an evacuation.
Whilst at the Registration desk you will be given/or please take a blue token which is to be deposited into the relevant plastic container after the lecture. (The containers are labelled and offer a range of evaluations of the lecture--your evaluation of each lecture is important to us).

Please be seated at least 10 minutes before the lecture starts.
There is an opportunity to speak to the lecturer afterwards.

Note there are no lectures in August and December.

Society affairs are managed by a committee drawn from the membership. Committee members serve on a rotational basis and we invite members to come forward to replace those retiring.

The Arts Society Magazine, which is published three times a year, showcases activities/ exhibitions across the country and is delivered to members free of charge.

The Society offers two one day excursions each year and a  visit to The Royal Shakespeare Theatre for a matinee  performance. 

One of the highlights of the year 2025 was the annual five day holiday. Our holiday was a visit to Cardigan Bay, Wales- staying at the Cliff Spa Hotel.Visits included Gregynog Hall, National Botanical Garden of Wales, Newton House, Picton Castle, St David's Cathedral and Powys Castle. Such a variety of interesting places to visit...thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

Our thanks go to our Chairman Margaret Thompstone for organising such an enjoyable holiday.

 


 

The photograph shows a fabulous World War Two Spitfire in it's wonderful new gallery at the Hanley Museum , adjacent to the coffee bar.
A moving tribute for Remembrance Day 2023, 1000 handcrafted poppies made by members of the 'Lets make Jam' Women's Institute Group-- made from wool, felt and paracord-- were draped over the Spitfire and some of the surrounding area.
