The aim of Heritage Volunteers is to provide non-specialist help in the conservation and preservation of our national heritage in  museums, historic houses, National Trust properties and other heritage organisations. It may involve caring for collections, recording documents, cataloguing, guiding and stewarding. Our society has an active and committed group.

At present there are four projects in progress :-

A.  At the Wedgwood Museum, Barlaston

1.The Portrait Medallions project - cataloguing historic, original, working moulds used in the production of ceramic portrait medallions over a 300 year period.

2 The Trial Tray Project - cataloguing Josiah Wedgwood's historic ceramic trial pieces used to investigate the properties of clay bodies and glazes.

3 The Works on Paper Project - cataloguing an extensive collection of paper-based designs and art work.

All the catalogues are finalised in digital format and the aim is for them to be available for public use on the V&A web site.

B. At the Spode Museum Trust, Stoke

4 - Cataloguing a collection of personal and business papers from the Spode Company and the Spode Museum Trust.
